Supporting and equipping the Church to provide more than a place to stay
Over 24,000 Victorians and 116,000 Australians will be homeless tonight. They include families with children, young people, older people, single adults & people with disabilities.
Local churches work together to open Winter Shelters, offering hospitality and making a practical difference at the coldest time of year.
Our mission is to support the Church as it works together to share the love of God by providing accommodation to those in need. To journey with each person towards stability, offering physical and spiritual care.
“What can I say? This time in my life will be with me for the rest of my days. This has been the catalyst which will help me to enjoy and live life again to the fullest.”
Alex*, Lodger
Alex* was in a motel before coming to the Lodge. Broken relationships and poor mental and physical health left him without secure housing. Alex stayed 12 weeks and reported enjoying the 'love, friendship, respect and laughter'. He was given support to attend appointments both virtually and in person and was able to find longer-term housing to move on to through a local church connection.
