The Yarra Valley Winter Shelter is operated directly by Stable One. It represents the continuation of our first Winter Night Shelter pilot project in 2017, from which we gained the resources and experience necessary to enable the Winter Shelter model to be replicated in other areas.
Local churches work together throughout the winter months to support men and women experiencing homelessness in the Yarra Valley. They open their buildings overnight with dinner, dormitory-style sleeping, and breakfast.

Volunteers
Local to the Yarra Valley and want to get involved? Volunteers are recruited from within churches and the local community. They are not required to have a personal Christian faith, but should be willing to work within this ethos. Volunteers will have a desire to work in this project to serve, journey with and support people who are experiencing homelessness. A range of skills and abilities amongst volunteers will add value to the Winter Shelter project.
