Our Mission
Inspired by Jesus Christ, our mission is to support the Church as it provides accommodation to people in need and journeys with each person, offering physical, social, emotional and spiritual care as an expression of God’s love.
“The Winter Shelter is personal and emotionally supporting. People there give in many ways a normal service couldn't ... as it comes from the heart. I have never felt cared for unconditionally like that before. Never judged."
Alex*, Winter Shelter Guest
Alex* stayed at the Winter Shelter when they were experiencing homelessness. They have since accessed private rental but find it very challenging to maintain the tenancy. "With the way things are going, it is always a stress to be able to pay the rent ... I am looking at being homeless again due to circumstances of trying to better myself after trauma. Anxiety is high and I find it hard ot relax as nothing is stable with this rental crisis. A permanent home would mean I could live in peace."
Stable One is funded by the generosity of individuals and organisations who give one-off or regular donations. We also apply for grants for specific projects and are grateful to all who invest financially in our work.
