As part of our community-based response to the growing need for local accommodation solutions, Stable One is working to connect individuals and families experiencing housing instability with people in our community who are willing to offer accommodation.
Investment properties, spare rooms, bungalows, caravans — even vacant land to house a caravan — all can be utilised to assist someone in need.
In our experience, many people in the community genuinely want to help — they simply don't know how.
Stable One seeks to bridge that gap.
We will offer support and connection, providing the information needed to help participants ensure their accommodation matches are appropriate and sustainable.
Importantly - as an extension of our local Winter Shelter program - we are currently seeking funding to engage a Welfare Coordinator on an ongoing basis. This Welfare Coordinator will be available to walk alongside lodgers as required, providing them with the relational care they need to work towards long-term stability.
If you’re interested in learning more, we invite you to join the Collective.
Joining the Collective does not oblige you to participate in the program, it simply ensures you'll receive regular email updates on our progress, as well as specific call outs for accommodation solutions to support individuals and families.
While we are still finalising planning and documentation, we invite you to register now so we can move forward quickly once preparations are complete. The official program launch is anticipated in early 2026.
The greater the number of participants, the stronger our position will be to secure funding for program costs - so let’s collaborate and make this happen together!
Please note that all personal information collected by Stable One will be treated as strictly confidential and used solely for the purposes of your participation in the Fast Haven Collective. Stable One is committed to protecting your privacy and will not share your information with external parties except where required by law, or with organisational partners of the FHC, and only to the extent necessary to facilitate connections, support services, or coordination within the program.

Who can we help?
Lodgers supported through the Collective will be individuals and families identified by Anchor Community Care, a key partner in this project. Lodgers will be people facing the real risk of homelessness most likely for the first time - often described as 'low-need' because they may not require intensive support but still struggle to secure stable, long-term housing. They will include locals who are vulnerable due to financial pressures or unexpected life changes, as well as families escaping domestic violence who require urgent emergency crisis accommodation.
Through our strong partnership with Anchor, our goal is to connect with individuals and families in need and empower members of the Collective to provide accommodation solutions - ranging from short-term crisis support to longer-term, sustainable housing. By fostering these opportunities, we aim to help lodgers maintain stability and prevent their circumstances from escalating into more complex homelessness situations.
What is Stable One's role?
While each participant in the Fast Haven Collective is responsible for their own decisions and actions, Stable One is wholeheartedly committed to fostering a welcoming, collaborative community where everyone feels supported and confident in the part they play. Our role is to facilitate connections, share helpful information on regulatory requirements and financial benefits, and offer ongoing encouragement so that together we can achieve our shared goal of providing safe, stable housing for those in need.
Depending on available funding, we will also provide a trained Welfare Coordinator who can journey with lodgers, offering personalised, compassionate support whenever it’s needed. Rather than functioning as a case manager or tenancy manager, the Welfare Coordinator will serve as an 'alongsider' - someone whose focus is on being present, listening, building trust, and helping lodgers achieve stability.
Why 'Fast Haven Collective'?
The name Fast Haven Collective is inspired by Isaiah 58, a passage that redefines the true meaning of fasting. Here God challenges the idea of fasting as mere ritual and instead calls His people to a different kind of 'fast'...
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice… to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter…”
— Isaiah 58:6–7
The word fast in our name therefore carries a dual meaning:
It echoes the biblical call to live out a fast through action — by caring for those in need, particularly through hospitality and housing.
It also suggests urgency — a fast response to the critical need for safe, welcoming spaces in our communities.
Haven speaks to the heart of what we hope to provide: a place of refuge, safety, and belonging.
Collective reflects our shared commitment to work together as individuals and church congregations to offer practical hope.
Together, the Fast Haven Collective represents a living response to Isaiah 58: not just words, but a movement of people choosing love, justice, and hospitality - quickly, and together.
